Lancia Beta

Sadly, the Lancia Beta is remembered for all the wrong reasons. Instead of casting a rose-tinted glance in the direction of its fine handling, versatile model range and alloy-head twin cam engines, all most people remember about the car was its propensity to rust like a tin can abandoned on a beach. Using cheap imported metal almost ruined the company, as Lancia faced thousands of warranty claims for rusty Betas from their disgruntled owners. And that's a crying shame, because for its era the Lancia was one of the best cars on the market in terms of driver appeal, with wonderfully crisp steering and all-wheel disc brakes coupled to a fantastically compliant chassis. Supercharged Volumex models are of particular interest thanks to their sports car-like performance. They have a small bump in the bonnet to accomodate the supercharger.
